The writer of Love Comes Softly

The novel “Love comes softly” is written by Janette Oke in 1970s.  Oke’s only goal to write her first novel was to find a publisher,but little did she know that she would become aone of the pioneers of Chiristian fiction.

The nove Love Comes Softly was published in 1979.It is the first of more than 75 titles and $23 million in sales. Oke’s pioneer fiction series include The Canadian West. She also wrote children story books and gift books. Her books were very famous,popular and translated into 14 languages. Of course, She got numerous awards.

In recent years Oke’s books have been made into movies,including the most recent DVD release - Love’s Unending Legacy.Her previous titles in the Love Comes Softly series rank as the highest-rated films in the history of The Hallmark Channel.

Oke wanted to share her faith with readers through her novels and books. She believe that We live in a world that has seen such a shift in morality. Relationships with God and family and others is very important to get you through every part of life.

This pioneer of Christian fiction chose to retire as a full-time writer six years ago. She says that she may work on some small writing projects but will never be as involved in writing as she once was.

Now Oke is once again fully focused on the things that have always been most important to her - church, family and, of course, her grandchildren.
